Does anyone use this setup procedure as described by Homer in 2-J-1?

I took a quick glance at the book to see what it is, but my eyes immediately glazed over. If it's addressing the ball with a driver on the toe when the club is soled, so that the sweetspot is even with the ball when you lift it up a bit off the ground to simulate impact, then I saw Brian mention/recommend this in one of his videos. If thats not what 2j1 is then there's a good chance its just rubbish IMO.

Yes.

I teach it.

The key is get at impact first.

YOU MAY WIND UP AT ADDRESS WITH THE BALL ON THE HEEL if you can stand to look at it.

I have started to address the driver off the heel with great results with regards to centeredness of contact. I tried teeing it off the toe for quit some time but ended up hitting it out of the heel, and thought i must keep with this.

However I thought lets try addresss of the heel, and just like that the impacts came back to the centre of the face.

In fact I remember my teacher at the time saying 'You dont want to address it iff the heel! thats not proper! you should set up neutral!' I asked why does it matter if I adress the ball towards the heel if at the point of impact it is meeting it with a centered contact.... he couldnt give me a decent answer, he just argues centered ball at address should mean centred contact with a 'decent' swing.

FWIW, I address the ball initially with the face directly behind the ball, and my right arm extended. Then I relax the arm, and the club pulls back a bit. The swing forces re-extend the right arm, and since starting this procedure, my percentage of center strikes has improved significantly.

yep, i hate this sort of instruction. if a heel address improves your contact and doesn't negatively affect your swing in any other way, it's a winner.
