Club Weighting

I have a lot of thoughts on this........

But I haven't yet tested things in this area as much as I want to.......

......thus these thoughts are more like random ideas....theories......etc.

I figured I would start a topic and see what happens.

I am talking about:

-swing weight vs. total weight - i.e. "entire club/shaft heavy" vs. "head heavy"

-counter-weighting

-specs on tour perhaps

...

As tongzilla would say:

Hey Dariuz......you were the one who got me thinking of all this. ;)

MOI-matching?

Moment of inertia matching -I can recommend it!
Went with a master clubfitter-you will pay about $1300 FOR A SET [3 IRON TO PW PLUS 2 other wedges]
SUPERB!

It's a good line Leo. :)

BTW thanks for the links peeps.

Just read the Wishon MOI-matching link...............that sounds very good in theory. (and Wishon seems to have lots of good info.) Anyone have any experience with this? Dariusz?

From Wishon's site:

What will a golfer notice when switching from swingweighted to MOI matched clubs?

No BS, we have yet to hear from a clubmaker using the MOI system who reported that a golfer for whom MOI matching was performed did not notice a difference in the swing feel of all of the clubs in the set, and a minor to significant increase in the percentage of solid, on-center hits with their clubs. If the golfer “waggles” each MOI matched club, if they are sensitive to the feel of each club, they will detect a progressively increasing headweight feel as the clubs get shorter in the set. But as soon as the clubs are swung full, the golfers all report that they can close their eyes, switch clubs in the set, and not really detect any difference in the total swing feel of the clubs from each other.

As a side note..........I've read that Bobby Jones had a club that he hated.........when they did tests on it later it turned out it was different from the rest. (I think in swingweight)

Yep, I have learnt practically all my clubfitting knowledge from Tom and a bunch of great experienced clubfitters and clubmakers on this forum. I'd recommend it to anyone who's interested in deepening his/her knowledge about golf equipment, among others, MOI-matching.

Cheers
