Clubface is the key?

So I'm out on the range today and hitting everything dead right.

I know I'm not pushing it but swinging out-in with an open face.

Finally found out left arm was rotating too much. I've been working on rotating more, getting right elbow lower, but today was the end of it as I overdid it. So decided to forget that swing thought and start the club more straight back and get the face less open (more square) at the top.

Result is a slight in-out swing with square face and perfect draw...didn't even need to change anything consciously on the downswing. So the real key is to FIX THE CLUBFACE.:)

You Fixed the clubface but didn't adjust the grip?

So what you did was position it differently at the top by changing your takeaway and reduced(?) other adjustments you were making?

I was rolling over my left arm too much and the clubhead got behind my hands too quickly. Tried to make a more straight back takeaway to keep the face square longer and less open at the top and instantly, I was able to swing from the inside. When I had the too open face, there was nothing I could do besides changing the face that would allow me to swing from the inside.

So in reality what you did was one, maybe two things

a. You changed your club path (takeaway) adjusting your swing plane

possibly also

b. Your rotation if it was intentional and not related to the take away could be considered a club face adjustment

In TGM terms you worked on Zone #3 - The "Hands" Lane.

Not to take as a critism but I am trying to understand why anyone would tell someone to fixthe clubface when most golfer seem to equate the club face to the grip and hand rotation MO.

Would have fixing the path, takeaway, have reduced the rotation ofthe arms? Did you rotate the arms to achieve a position at the top that you thought was a position your golf swing required?

I was under the impression we didnt want to intentionaly rotate during the backswing, just hang on and let the natural rotation happen.
I have been sweep loading and it seems to have put me right on plane.
I was told this is sorta like Hogan's waggle, is this right?
