Any fans out there? We need a place to talk non-golf stuff. Hawks won and are 3-0.

The Iowa Hawks are going to Pitt next week. Look out Pitt fans (if any on here)!!!!!!

I'm a Michigan fan. Nuff said.

Although, I must say, USC helped take some of the sting out of this young season, if only for a week :)

I was born 5 minutes from Pitt's campus and my dad played baseball there. Pitt's gonna kick the living sh............ well, actually Iowa probably will crush Pitt.

.....but it took a coach from Pittsburgh to make you guys any good! :p

Dosen't have a great rep 'round here, either. There's pretty much a wait-and-see feeling around here. Would've preferred a Michigan guy myself. Not to mention all of the contract drama. Because of all that, he probably dosen't have a whole lot of time to get this thing going.

Despite all of that, if he does here what he did down south, especially recruiting speed, then we'll have a better chance of competing for a national title, and not getting blown out everytime we play someone from down south or out west.

Living about 4 miles from Bryant Denny Stadium, (Roll Tide) Alabama fan. Really don't believe SEC is as powerful as everyone is saying this year. Just ask Tennessee. Maybe Florida or LSU but the rest haven't shown much. My money would be on USC and maybe Missouri.

Well, I actually bought 2 season tickets for Pitt this year because I thought this might be "the year", then watched Bowling Green kick the hell out of them and then struggle to beat Buffalo. I'll be there Saturday to watch Iowa kill them---but hope poor little Pitt can give them a game for a while. My daughter graduated from Auburn on 2006 and having been to several of their games it is a WHOLE lot different in the SEC---like 2 speeds faster!
Agree with psomers though, not sure how good the SEC is---I love Auburn but think they are over-rated---and afraid they might find that out this week vs LSU. But, who knows.

I think Florida will end up being the real deal out of the SEC.

Georgia will find a way to blow it....either by losing to Tenn or Florida in Jacksonville. If not they still have to play Auburn and that is always a battle.

The SEC is a toss-up pretty much every year. While it is, IMO, the best football league, I don't think you will ever see too many national champions from there. They beat each other up too good throughout the year.

Think about it. You have 6 programs in that league that are "nationally known" Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Auburn, Alabama & LSU. Then you have "really good" programs like Arkansas & South Carolina. It is just a deep league.

Give Rodriguez a chance, he just got there - do you know what Pete Carroll's record was at USC the first year? 6-6! Jim Tressel at Ohio State the first year? 7-5! It takes time for your process to take hold and grow

I know. I don't think that anyone who knows football expects a great deal out of U of M this year. He needs to get the pieces in to fit his system. Right now, he's working with Lloyd's guys, who weren't brought it to be spread offense players. But if they're playing .500 football 3 years from now, he's gonna have problems.

Curtis, losing to Pitt sets Iowa's program back a few years. Pitt sucks (and I love Pittsburgh) Ole Kirk better start looking over his shoulder.

The Hawkeye Nation wasn't happy about that one. I'm not much for excuses but we really should have won that game. I agree that Pitt sucks, other than your stud RB. Iowa is the better team but unfortunately managed to take a big dump down their legs. Shouldn't have watched the game, RUINED my Saturday.

Good luck going forward.
