I'll leave the swing comments to experts, but 1 thing - take this too long and prolly too heavy driver out of the hands of your younger kid !!! Kids have to use a properly fitted equipment to their physical strength and height.

Cheers

defiantely for the younger one, but it hasnt hurt dan lol handicapp of 5/6 has got something to do with swinging well, and a full size driver hasnt stopped him lol

If he hits it well, who cares?

I'd be hesitant to change anything in that swing. At that age, let 'em play.

Only advice I'd give is to get them playing from tees they can make lots of birdies from. Don't let them play "with the big boys" until they can make lots of birdies from back there too.

sorry but i dont think you understand. its not like their just starting. they have both played for years, and dan is off 6, so its not like he cant play with 'the big boys'. he can beat most of them! and does. he drives it around 260-270, can shape it either way on demand, high and low on demand and a great short game. his low round in medal is 74

I understand completely. What I'm advocating is that you teach this kid to MAKE BIRDIES. There's a big difference in an 11 year old learning how to shoot 74 from the back tees and how to shoot 66 from the reds.

He can obviously hit the ball. That's great and all, but he's gotta learn how to be 7 under through 13 holes, and only be thinking of making birdie on 14.

just make things clear, dan is the elder brother, he 14. just making sure

In what way?

I'm not trying to be condescending either, I'm just curious as to how exactly his "body does care."[/QOTE]

Swinging an "adult" driver burdens his body too much and may lead to some problems in the future - God forbid !
If you want to feel it, take a 60" long, G8 swingweighted driver and swing it hard 10 times - your body will feel more or less the same as a 11-ys' old kid's one when swinging a 45" D2 driver.

Cheers

an 11 yr old is flexible enough to cope with it. we all know how flexible and resilient those lads are

It's your kid, mate. Mine is also 11 ys' old and I'd never let him hit an "adult" driver. Next time I'll stay quiet when I see something like that again though.

Cheers

they aint my kids
there just friends of mine who i have been working with for about a year now. their dad just happens to be course record holder at this course, so wonder where they get it from lol
i know where you're coming from Dariusz, but i think he'll be alrite. i think he's young and supple enough to cope. JMHO

wonder what brian reckons on golfers this good, this young. im sure brian has come across similar quality and aged players.
for the good of them, dan espcially has admirations of turning pro, how could they be helped most efficiently?

Neither of them takes driver past parallel, so it doesn't appear that they can't "handle" it. Its not like they are developing john daly backswings because they cant physically move the club around.

Dan's clubface is too open at the top. He cant go downplane with that face so he kinda ducks it under preparing for a little flip out to the right. Overall, both are pretty darn solid

he gets like that, but only with the driver. you can see in his iron shots, he has no problem taking divots, telling me anyways, NO FLIP! lol if you freeze him onone of the pictures about 3/4 down, you can see how they bothe have flat, or arched left wrists

Oh, no doubt. Face on impact is awesome. Very flat left wrist. Flip was prolly a bad choice of words. More like just swings too far right, rolls it a bit. I'm thinking he's at an age where if he had that face a little less open he could start staying on top of the plane a little more and learn to take his swing left a bit. Maybe Brian's bounce the ball drill would be a good one.

your right on the money kevin. he does swing a bit too far to the right, and we've been working some of Brian's Never Hook Again things, like arms falling, quieter hips and more upright spine angle to keep the club more infront of him.
hes always hit draws/hooks and we've straightened him out alot in quiet a short space of time. when we started working together he was off around 12/14 and he had a very flat, draw type swing. stuck an umbrella in the gound and got him more on his left foot, and he became much straighter
