Cool Clubs Dallas

Has anyone had any experience with the Cool Clubs Dallas location? I'm in OKC, so it is a much easier trip there for me to there than Arizona. I have booked a complete bag fitting in late June, but after talking to the young lady who answered the phone and was less than knowledgeable, I began to be concerned that I was making a mistake. Any feedback would be much appreciated. I'm also dubious as it is located at the Hank Haney golf ranch. I don't want any Barkley/Romano mojo to rub off on me.

Also, apparently an indoor full bag fitting (excluding putter) is $375 compared to an outdoor fitting which is $575. When I inquired as to the price discrepancy, said young lady after stammering for 15 seconds said that some people were just interested in the "luxury" of hitting off of grass and seeing the actual ball flight. She tells me they use trackman in either situation, so I don't see how actually seeing the ball flight is worth an extra $200. Please let me know if I am off-base.

By the way, there is nothing "luxurious" about being outside in Dallas from noon to five PM in late June...unless you enjoy chafing.

depending on the length of the ball flight indoor might be less exact then the full length ball tracking outdoor. Specifically with regard to the spin-axis tilt.

just curious: how long does that fill bag fitting take?

I'm moving down to Dallas for 3 months while I work for Texas Instruments. Let me know how it goes because I was also considering a fitting at the Dallas location.

Hey Frans, thanks for the response. I have heard that about the potential for some inaccuracy, but given the relative loosness of my swing, I doubt it will make tons of difference.

Looks like 4.5 hours including the wedge fitting. Here is the link to their little brochure if you are interested. http://www.coolclubs.com/DallasFittings.pdf

They need at least 15 feet for the Trackman Indoor to work. Arizona is their flagship location so I would ask to speak to the actual clubfitter who could give you more info since it is a new facility I would ask the fitter some questions to make sure he knows what he is doing and has the proper training

Are they including the wedge fitting in your outdoor fitting? That is the one they have you hit chips, bunker shots, etc. That one is not part of the indoor fitting package. That's $100-something right there. So that puts you at $475.

When I did my fitting I split the sessions up on consecutive days. I figured if I did the full shot in one day, i would at some point get tired and start making swings I normally don't make. I wanted my trackman numbers to be as true to my ability as possible. I didn't want any tired sloppy swing numbers in there.

Make sure you do your full warmup routine. People tend to shorten their warmup because they are anxious to see the numbers and they don't want to hold up the fitter. Get there early and ask to hit balls in an empty bay to get your full warmup in. Enjoy the fitting.

Outdoors has to be far more accurate since you can discard bad TM readings (since oyu can actually see the ball flight) and TM's dopler radar is tracking the entire ball flight not estimating data.
