Cool Swing

If you need more lag, float loading is your answer...
Killer swing, Powerful and great pivot -

That shaft is X stiff...

Cool!

That float loading reminds me of the youtube video where Brian does Nicklaus's swing and talks about fishing rods - one of his best.

Without you telling us that he hits 260yrd carry I would have thought he hit it longer. I wonder how far he would hit with out the LCT and float loading?

Also anyone have a guess why his follow thru looks so abbreviated?

260 CARRY + another 20-30 Yards roll... that's average for the PGA...it's reasonable, isn't?

Well, he reminds somewhat of myself physically, but with a much better swing! He is a pretty big guy across the chest, which as Brian said in another thread, makes holding angles harder. I know my backswing and follow through are shorter than most, ( and he has a fairly short backswing, at least to me ) but I keep a wide arc. I just can't get my shoulder up quite as high as he does ( football injury! ) Sometimes I try to get more, and my tempo & therefore accuracy suffers greatly. Maybe without the LCT and float loading, his would too:confused:

Again, I'm probably dead wrong about everything I just said lol!

I think it is just a bit under tour average. But it is reasonable. I think I have seen that the tour average for swing speed is ~112mph.

It was just my initial impressions as I saw a bigger guy with LCT, float load, great width on the backswing, good lag, good pivot and thought he must kill the ball.

To put it in perspective doesn't Jay Haas average near 280? And if I compared the two swings I woud think the guy you posted would be much longer than Jay. Maybe your friend is not optimized?

I guess it is all relative.

I stand corrected....I was going off the old premise that one mile an hour of clubhead speed was equal to 2.2 yards of carry

Obviously with new knowledge of technology and better equipment, more yardage is out there.

Tried this swing...great drives! BAD irons

Played yesterday and copied the swing on the video at the beginning of this thread-
I hit booming drives. Very long, powerful and great trajectory (fade or draw depending on my intent)

BUT

I couldn't hit my mid-long irons worth crap doing this type swing-most shots went weak right...With the driver I really felt the lag/sharp angle or cocking of the wrists in the DS; but with the irons it felt like they never got into that full lag position

Any thought out there
thanks

This guy is on the Big Break, isn't he? I've only seen a couple minutes of the show and haven't seen his swing but I recognized the "look".

Not alot of vertical force/jump, or whatever speak you guys have here nowadays.. going through the ball..happy pulls!
