I have been lurking and picking up a few tidbits to try and see if the TGM method would work for me. My game is characterized by weak slices with no power. My contact is weak and my divots point (if I take one) left of target line (way left). My bad shot is a big block cut.
I played last night trying to hinge my right wrist (horizontally as opposed to my old method of both hinging up vertically which I could never do) to achieve a flat left wrist and then concentrated on compressing the ball by driving my right elbow down and out (and in front of my body as opposed to dropping it to my hip.) and increase the right wrist angle. The result was an added 10 yards, stronger compression/contact, and a nice little draw. My question is two fold:
1.Is this proper technique with the right wrist hinge as well as the right elbow move on the downswing?
2. My divots were straight down the target line, is this correct? What can you tell from your divots - ie, if they are going left or right of line what does this mean.
thanks.
