couple problems

1. I am shanking a lot (prolly 1 out of 5) when working on the swivel.
2. How do I make sure my hands are ahead at impact when working on the swivel? I feel like I am throwing the clubhead at the ball while swiveling.

Thanks

What exactly are you trying to feel like you're doing?

I had a lesson with Brian a couple weeks ago and I need to work on rolling my wrist/forearm through impact to the point the knuckles point down when the club is parallel to the ground on the follow through. Hope I explained that right.
I have always broken my left wrist down at impact and this was to stop that.

If you try to do NOTHING but just 'hit it' what happens?

The same. I'll shank a few here and there. I do better when trying to pull the butt of the club to the inside of the ball, but doing that and concentrating on the swivel I get all crossed up. I have like 50 things going through my head. I should probably just work on those short swivel drills and not worry about the inside of the ball till I get the swivel down.

Just focus on 'passing though' left palm up on the way to the finish.

And---very important---let you PIVOT move your hands on the downstroke...you are 'moving your hands with your hands.'

thanks....one question...I just watched your video you posted. Great stuff by the way. You have me swing more like the ernie els style rather than the ben doyle/your style, correct? Is that a swinger vs. hitter difference? plus, will using my impact bag hinder me an any way being a swinger?

thanks for your time Brian.

I got the idea from the video (when you were talking about the "tour" pitch vs. the Doyle flat(er) left wrist) that Els used the tour pitch, with more of a rollover after impact. No??

OH! nm...just watched it again...

Tiger Woods = slightly cupped left wrist past impact
Els & Vijay = more bent left wrist past the impact (Ben Doyle style)

Right?

Do you just alter your transition at the top of the swing to do either?
(with same backswing)
