i have been playing this game for 6 years and it is a complete working progress. There is always something to work on but i am still trying to get this downswing down. my shoulders tend to take over and get off the plane. people have said to get it right you should swing the club down and out but that really doesnt mean anything and i dont think it will until you get it CORRECT. in the past couple days what i have been working on and i dont know if it is right but try to picture this: As you swing the club back and up over your shoulder to the top try to imagine an imaginery line that is drawn by the clubhead to the top of the swing, what i am trying to do is trace that line back on the downswing back to the ball, this seems to give me a downward path instead of the shoulders taking over. I KNOW THAT TRACING THAT EXACT PLANE BACK TO THE BALL IS NOT IDEAL BECAUSE THE WEIGHT SHIFT SHOULD BRING THE CLUB BACK ON A MORE SHALLOWER PLANE. any advice. THIS GAME IS CRAZY AND ADDICTING. I HAVE A 12.9 HANDICAP BUT I AM SO ADDICTED AND WORK AT IT CONSTANTLY.

...people have said to get it right you should swing the club down and out but that really doesnt mean anything and i dont think it will until you get it CORRECT.

When you make a backswing, the club comes up & in, you have to go down & out to hit the ball anything like you should.

But...words are meaningless, unless they give you the correct picture, feel or thought.

in the past couple days what i have been working on and i dont know if it is right but try to picture this: As you swing the club back and up over your shoulder to the top try to imagine an imaginery line that is drawn by the clubhead to the top of the swing, what i am trying to do is trace that line back on the downswing back to the ball, this seems to give me a downward path instead of the shoulders taking over.

Do you realize that this is down & out?

But, I like it....straight line from the top to the ball.

I KNOW THAT TRACING THAT EXACT PLANE BACK TO THE BALL IS NOT IDEAL BECAUSE THE WEIGHT SHIFT SHOULD BRING THE CLUB BACK ON A MORE SHALLOWER PLANE.

No.

It does NOT have to do any such thing.

Bobby Jones' downswing is STEEPER than his backswing. So is Snead.

The ball has NO IDEA ABOUT PLANE ANGLE. If the club's lie angle is correct, the ball only knows PATH, CLUBFACE, and ANGLE of ATTACK.

any advice?

Stick around this site. Lots of folks get in "right in their coconuts" this way.

THIS GAME IS CRAZY AND ADDICTING.

Really? :D
