Customizing Never Slice Again. Is this kosher?

I took a lesson from Brian last year. For what was my problems, NSA pattern worked. Especially pivoting around the base of my neck and getting behind the ball. Relatively quickly, I started to have problems with nasty hooks. And getting underplane especially with the driver, and topping or hitting very fat. After talking with Brian and getting Jim's input, more axis tilt and also more open hips was the initial suggestion, but that didn't help totally.

This is what I've been doing to help out of my swing.
1) I turned out my left foot (it initially was placed square). This let me rotate my hips more open on the downswing. I think trying to rotate open with a square foot led to some leg tendonitis.
2) In order to not get too inside, I started to add the feel of lifting my arms up instead of in on the backswing. Still doing NSA type pivot.
3) Initiate the backswing with my hip rotation. Actually added a forward press by rotating my hips a little open first then clockwise.
4) Downswing I don't actively try to roll to wedding ring up. It feels like what is described as angled hinge, but I know that the club face is still rotating closed. More let the roll happen.
5) I went back to strong single action grip. Brian had put me in this grip, and I just forgot it.

So, doing these changes has helped especially with my driver. Not yet consistent, but before I work on it more, I want to know if these changes are compatible or no? Thanks for any input.

Never Slice Again 2.0 + Custom Variations = ??

Yes.

First of all, the Never Slice Again 2.0 pattern was designed to make eradicating the slice and all its causes, effects, and compensations.

The "adjustments" at the end of the video are all designed to "temper" the probable overly left influences of the "pure" NSA2 pattern.

Having said that, the amount of left varies with the amount of forward lean and opening axis tilt that a golfer has. I have seen golfers do the NSA2 pattern and hit a hard slight fade.

As far as your adjustments go, here is the skinny:
1) I turned out my left foot (it initially was placed square). This let me rotate my hips more open on the downswing.
It also will halt your backswing sooner, so in both directions, the change will be anti-left
2) In order to not get too inside, I started to add the feel of lifting my arms up instead of in on the backswing. Still doing NSA type pivot.
Precisely the reason that the "lift" is part of the NHA (NEver Hook Again) pattern. It keps the club from getting below plane.
3) Initiate the backswing with my hip rotation. Actually added a forward press by rotating my hips a little open first then clockwise.
Always a good idea if you need depth. As you added the lift, the depth was a must.
4) Downswing I don't actively try to roll to wedding ring up. It feels like what is described as angled hinge, but I know that the club face is still rotating closed. More let the roll happen.
As in the NSA2 video, I show three possible variations of the finish swivel. Most people don;t need wedding ring up after they have "de-cutoff-chicken winged" themselves.
5) I went back to strong single action grip. Brian had put me in this grip, and I just forgot it.
The Manzella-Neutral Grip woks every well with wedding ring up, or "on purpose" fades. About 10° stronger is "standard"....for a very good reason.

Thanks for your input/blessing. I'll make it down to Louisville soon, but in the meantime wanted to improve the game. Everything that I changed actually came from watching both NSA2 and NHA and trying to synthesize it.

Why Brian?

I think I may go stronger so I can lift it more with less arch. Vertical grip and no arch and it's too open for me I think (without wed ring up that is).....with an arch is more solid but seems hook and pull prone. (too on top of sweetspot)
