Smarko,

Thanks for posting. Just wondering if you could share with us how long you've been playing, how long you've worked with Kevin and if you had any lessons prior to working with Kevin?

Thanks,
VJ

Np Singer. I started playing seriously when i was about 10, so approximately 10 years. Iv been "working" with Kevin all winter, iv known him for a while through my brother and just golfing period. I have had lessons prior to working with Kevin, but I haven't made a lot of changes prior to this winter. I like to consider myself a natural swinger of the club. I try not to get caught up in chasing the "perfect" swing.

Steve,
Thanks for posting this. I like how your swing looks compact but still dynamic and not tight.

Kevin,
Absolutely love the counterfall and the swivel. Are you based out of Pittsburgh?

"Working" with me is a loose defintion. His coach will be Trackman from here on out. He is a natural who should only keep playing and experimenting and getting better.

I am out of Pittsburgh.

I will post about these two swings later. I have to go teach....and play:D

I find the differences fascinating because of what we've learned from Trackman. It reminds me of Brian's old signature "let the imperatives dictate the components, not the other way around."

Kevin,

Did we miss your analysis of these swings?

Earlier, on another thread, you had also mentioned a TrackMan "lightbulb" moment after a discussion with the Boss (of the Toss).

Any nuggets (new found knowledge) to share, yet?

Bet these two are related. Cheers.

Burners, no you didnt. I'll tell you what, spending a whole week on Trackman has been an eye opening experience to say the least. Before I post on findings and how I've related it to my own game, I want to talk to Brian first. there are some club questions that need answered first from his trip.

I will say this though. First, ball flight does indeed lie. Second, especially if you're a real good player, you better get some clubs that you can reach the sweetspot or flight is a total guess. Third, its amazing to me how many ways you can hit down on the ball.

And fourth.....CLUBFACE is everything. I've had +4 to 36 handicaps on this thing and even if the numbers arent optimal, path doesnt change a whole lot (relatively speaking), especially with good players. Its the face that tends to be all over the map. My point is you can give someone anything that looks like a golf club and they can swing it somewhat the same way repetitively. Put a clubface on there and everything changes.

So how do you control the clubface?

So how do you control the clubface?

there was a great quote about this by tom bartlett on another thread way back when. he said you learn clubface control the same way you learn to walk a tightrope. first, you gotta know what you are trying to do, and then you gotta practice it!

rotate right forearm over the left through impact and followthrough. It's supposed to feel more like left hand hand pulling to square the back of the left hand with the target. Kinda like a bankhand pimp slapping action, but i feel like i am using my right forearm more. I'm trying to feel my clubface in my right index finger and thumb (lagging the sweetspot and keeping the pressure there), and it feels like i am doing more of a pushing rolling the right hand over through impact. Is this wrong?
