deep divots

Been making ball first contact since my lesson with jim but I noticed my divots are extremely deep. I know this means I have a steep angle of attack so what is the cure for this? I've tried to widen my backswing to no avail. Is this a weight shift issue? Lack of tilt? Jim, I'm noticing this more now that I bring the club more up instead of in. Any help appreciated.

You don't have any axis tilt away from the target. You need to keep your head steady as the right shoulder goes downplane.

Remember that drill where we hit 3/4 wedges with your right foot on the ground? Do that until the divots shallow out some. Then go back to your normal full swing.
