Did Webb Simpson's attitude bother you?

Not at all. Why would it? Simply good sportsmanship. Plus both guys are friends and share a strong faith in God.

Playing at super human level needs super human perspective. Whats' another million when you can continue with positive outlook in your game and life which may set you up to grab another million around the corner?

He should've been heartbroken to just miss out on his 3rd win, make $500K and become #1 on the money list?

Try like the devil during competition, but when the fat lady sings, I don't have any problem with a display of “my life and game are pretty good right now, I’ll try again next week.”

What he said :D

1% attitude on course, play to win but when the tourney is over enjoy your friends victory, work on what could have been better, win the week after....

Nope. In fact i commented to my wife afterwards that while there are douche-bags in all sports including golf, you could do worse to model the behavior of guys like Webb; very classy stuff and to me has nothing to do with lack of work ethic, desire, or toughness if that is the implication.

When you get beat, you are only demeaning yourself if you can't appreciate their efforts (e.g. Philly fans booing the Blackhawks after they got beat by them to take the Cup)

Nice to see from him. Also fun to see guys enjoying their golf - makes you want to root for 'em. Sure seemed like Ben Crane was having a blast out there during his round.

It's easy when you are shooting -7 to win. Plus the perspective of a child being born soon helps.

I have no problem with Webb Simpson's attitude. He played great this week and all year, did everything he could to win (other than that putt in the playoff) and is now leading the money list and has a shot at player of the year.

Kind of tough to say where his perspective is. From the outside it does look like he has had a pretty good year. I live in a pretty small town and we have a city match play every year. I have gotten lucky enough to win it twice. Basically it boils down to a handful of the same guys every year. Win or lose I really enjoy the tournament.

Being a gentleman never hurt Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson etc. It only enhanced their images IMO. I think that Webb is a refreshing shot in the arm for professional golf.

He won in Asia last week or the week prior. Has a good life no doubt either way.

PS - prenup kiddo!
