Do cavity backs limit feel for the sweet spot?

I have a problem with shanks. I know Brian's stance on the issue and have been working on feeling the lagging sweet spot. Unfortunatly, I have been fighting a frustrating battle to banish the shanks completely. I use Cleveland CG2 irons which have a small cavity. Since cavity backs move weight to the perimeter of the iron, I was wondering if they hinder my ability to feel the lagging sweet spot?
Any thoughts?

I do not think this is your problem. I do not believe there is enough of a difference, if any, for you to notice.

I had a set of your clubs and I remember them being quite bladelike. Maybe I am confused.

I would also say no, cavity backs do not hinder the feel of lagging the sweet spot. For me, I get a better feel for the sweet spot with a proper amount of twistaway on the downswing coupled with the feeling on the right pointer finger.
