Do most pros play fade or draw?

Just watched the Players. Well done Time Clark.

Brian may know this, or anybody for that matter. On the pro tour are there more players who generally play cut shape or are there more players who generally play a draw? Does anybody have some idea of what the percentages might be?

As someone who has worked on the soft draw pattern and the never hook again pattern I'm curious.

The last time I went to a Tour event it was the Tour Championship at East Lake and I would say it was pretty much 50/50 and most of them are just about straight-ish. Guys like Rocco and Kenny Perry play a pretty noticeable draw and just are not going to play a fade, even if the hole screams for it. So to me, it's mostly a straight-ish shot and if they need to go with a fade or a draw they'll try to incorporate that when it's called for and of course, there are exceptions.

Better players and pros usually fight a hook. So they may try to play a fade most of the time, which turns out to be straight? It makes sense what Richie says as being whatever the player is comfortable with.

I have heard Kenny Perry say (a few years ago when he was playing great great golf) that when the pin is on the right side of the green he aims for the middle and tries to two putt and when the pin is on the left side of the green --- well - he makes birdie :D

Tight Ballflight Pattern

I went to the Masters this year and filmed many great golf swings and those with a tight ballflight that tended to draw made the cut easily.:)
