how steep of a shoulder turn is consider steep?Might be due to the length of the clubs. Standard clubs on a shorter player may be longer for them and create less waist bend...thus tougher to get a steeper shoulder turn. Taller plays the standard clubs will play shorter, create more waist bend and make the steeper shoulder turn easier.

On the length of club thing, I have had this conversation with Frank Thomas and he agree's with me that clubs aren't to long unless you can't control them. If I cut a half inch off every club then I will just have to use one more club to hit the same distances.
I think some people have longer torsos and get less waist bend and others have longer arms and legs and get more waiste bend and that dictates how steep the swing will be. Everybody is built a little different. i know a guy who is 6'2" and is really lanky, he swings clubs that are 2 degrees flat and has a pretty flat swing plane.
Just my 2 cents from down here closer to the earth![]()

If you line up your right shoulder with your knee on the backswing (never slice again) it's not really that steep.
