Does lifting your left heel flatten your hips

Before I came on this wonderful forum, I thought it'd be a bad idea to straighten my right knee on the backswing. "That's old school" I thought. "That's not how 'today's pros' do it." Then I learned better. So, I fooled around today with lifting my left heel to try to load up my pivot even more--get a little more participation into my pattern. Checking out the move in the mirror, I could swear that it decreased my hip slant (i.e. flattened my hip turn) on the backswing. Is this just me or does this sound correct? Thanks in advance!

IMO, absolutely yes. We used to fool around with golfTEC machines to see how we could increase and decrease hip slant (hip tilt). Straightening the right knee and letting the left knee go down and in increased it drastically. Keeping the right knee flexed and lifting the left heel actually gave us a positive tilt (meaning the left hip was higher than the right at the top).

Definately, but he said also straightening the right knee.
