Downloading "Confessions of a Former Flipper" question

Sorry for making this my first post to the forum.....

I just purchased Confessions of a Former Flipper and when following the emailed link to view/download it, the instructions at the top of the page read "Download Video (right click, save as): MP4, OGG, WEBM, FLV". But when I right click, Save As, my only option is the .ogg (.ogv) file type. Once downloaded, nothing I have will recognize this format (Windows XP and 7), so the only way I can view it is to follow the link and watch it on the URL site.

Any ideas on how to download this in a Windows Media Player compatable file? Or even RealPlayer?

Thanks in advance!
Bob

MP4 is an MPEG which is supported by Windows Media. Try adding the file extension manually, or using another browser to download, I suggest FireFox or Google Chrome.

You just need a player to recognize the format if changing the file extension does not work. Example flipper.ogg to flipper.wmv
If that doesn't work, download Vorbis.com I think this should play that format.

Thanks let me know how you like it

No luck so far. I have only found ONE that will actually convert it and work, but there is a huge watermark right smack in the middle. Of course, I can get rid of that watermark for a mere $59.

Any other ideas?

Do you not get the four options at the top? My link shows "MP4, OGG, WEBM, FLV" and I can right click each one separately.

If not, I expect changing the file extension will just cause problems..need something that can play OGG files (whatever that is!). VLC is yet to let me down so another vote for that software.

Good luck!

OK, now I feel like a moron.... partially. :) I have been right clicking on the video itself, not realizing the 4 options were links. OK, so that mental block is over. However... I saved all 4 of them and could not get Media Player to open any of them. I found VLC and downloaded it and it did open and play the OGG version, so at least I can save it and watch it now. Just hate to have to install yet another media player. But at least I can watch it.

Thanks for all the help guys!!
Bob
