Downswing issue

I was wondering if anyone else struggles with this and what might help. In my downswing, I have trouble rotating my right shoulder down the plane (and concurrently rotating my left shoulder up and out). I think it might be a core strength or flexibility issue.

Basically, I want to be able to maintain a straight left arm past impact to full release but I'm having trouble despite having a flat left wrist and bent right wrist at impact. My left arm has a tendency to collapse right after impact. I've tried swinging more left and keeping my left shoulder more closed at impact but still can't seem to maintain an after contact position where both my arms are straight fully extended.

Has anyone tried those bands which connect your arms together? Wondering if that might help me be more connecting in my downswing and follow through.

Ya. Pivot "throws out" the hands FROM it's rotation. Or at least they do come "next" in the chain of events. (like how in throwing a ball...step...unwind...fire)

Somewhat like how a turbo charged merry go round would throw YOU out if you didn't hang on.

Why do you want your left arm straight longer?

If working on tilt and shoulder plane w the left shoulder doesn't work, maybe try firing your right shoulder in some direction. the ground somewhere perhaps. Generally "at the ball"...or whatever happens to work and/or feel best. Works pretty well for me so far. (pretty big upgrade actually)

A full roll "through impact" could be in order as well.

Hope I didn't jump the gun giving you this advice.

I am pretty good in the backswing, with in tolerance. But my major issue is the downswing. I have a horrendous time with the transition, its causing me alot of grief. If i had to describe it, my swing feels like alot of notes out of key. I got not tempo, horrible timing between my upper and lower body.

My questions, i know the whole, you got to start with your hips. I never was able to develop that feeling because i got strong legs. Its hard for me to get that hip feeling. Then there's the whole, you got to start your movement forward before your swing finishes. Or, its a hip bump, or a knee bump. I just have no clue what to do. My swing feels like i am throwing my right shoudler at the ball, and this causes huge problems with comming over the top. Then when i do get in the slot, i have a hard time squaring up because i am use to holding off, protecting a pull or a hook, that i hit these horrible push slices.

How do you start the downswing? There is no right or wrong here, i just want more opinions so that i might find one that sticks.
