i have a question about the downswing. i was trying something at the range tonight and man did it work great. when they say you have to hit the ball from the inside, that is if you want to make consistent ball striking, what should that feel like? at the range tonight i was working on hitting it from the inside and in order to do this i felt like as i started the downswing my left arm was swinging down close to my body. for example as i swing down my left arm is coming close to my body like it is brusing my belt buckle on the way down ( it really isnt brusHing my belt buckle i am just trying to describe what if feels like) is this correct???

Packing it in.

...is this correct???

I very often use a drill of mine where the golfer makes a practice swing and MISSES the ball he is addresssing normally, on the inside, but still makes a divot pass the ball.

The purpose?

"Packing in the Power Package," which means getting the arms/hands/club unit to swing through closer to the body.

thanks brian, that is exactly the feeling that i have when my left arm swings close to my body, like there is a line drawn from my chin down to the ground and I am trying to swing my left arm on the downswing without getting out accross that line so my left arm is swinging down between my body and that line. great tip thanks, this site rocks.

brian,
is that why some players address the ball off the heel of the club and try to hit the ball off the sweet spot?
thanks for all the great information.

Thornton Oil and 2 Majors.

Partially.

It also is a quick fix for folks who swing too far to the right.

Of course, Fuzzy still does it, and he can buy Indiana.
