Downswing Swing Thought

Would having the swing thought of moving my right shoulder down and towards the ball during my downswing be a good swing thought to have? I watched video #4 and learned a lot about the right shoulder. Just wanted to make sure that is what Brian is saying with regards to the right shoulder. Thanks.

I do better with "left shoulder up".........personally.

Left shoulder goes up.............to accomplish "right goes down." (it's how we're built)

Yes, it is a good swing thought if it works for you. But, like birdie_man said, "left shoulder up" works for a lot of people too. They both accomplish the same thing.

Basically, you want the right shoulder to move towards the ball, but the trick is to find a thought or feeling that makes that happen. Thinking about "right shoulder toward the ball" makes that happen for some people, but for other people it doesn't.

sorry, my bad. take the right elbow to the ball.

Can you explain this a bit more? Right elbow to the ball would make me SHANK the s*** out of it or totally miss the the ball, when does one release the power or somehow keep the club on plane or path or whatever by doing that?.....HMMMMMMM new one for me.

Please explain more:confused:

Even if you are a reforming hooker???

Should you still think right shoulder to the ball or left shoulder up and back?

I am trying everything to get rid of the underplane remnants I have without losing the lag I have tried to sustain.:(

Probably not. Again, the goal would be the same (right shoulder down plane), but you would need a different thought for that to happen. For example, you may need to feel like your right shoulder is moving towards your left heel to get it on plane. Or, if you want to think about the left shoulder, it will need to go more "back" than "up."
