I have been a TGM'er since December and have had great success with it so far. After utilizing extensor action and the right forearm pickup it stopped my overswing (my left arm would break down at the top) and helped with correcting a bent left wrist at impact. I started actually compressing balls for the first time which sold me on TGM. My lob wedge that used to go 60 yards started going over 75, SW went from 75 yards to over 90, and so on. Everything was at a much higher trajectory. I was still having trouble with longer irons and the driver though.
Brian's instructional articles have really helped, especially the "never slice again" one with the twist away move. I think my position at the top is much better than ever before...but my problem is on the downswing. I have a golf simulator (p3pro) and it says I have an outside in swing of about 8-10 degrees. The last couple of months, occasionaly I would start hitting shots that would go low and directly 45* to the right at the range and once I hit one I would start to hit a fair amount. I thought this was off the "toe" of the club. But 2 days ago when I was hitting I remembered getting that impact tape with some balls I bought last year so I put that on the club and sure enough it was right off the hosel. Is this from an outside in swing path?
I noticed that with Brian's swing he seems to flex his left knee forward and loses a little flex on this right knee, but the knees stay pretty straight...I noticed that my left knee bends towards the ball and I wonder if that could cause problems with initiating the downswing.
The couple things I have been working on lately is: 1. start using aft inside quadrant of ball as aiming point, 2. not letting left knee flex inward as much and 3. starting downswing by getting into "rebound" position and then firing right shoulder right at the ball. Are these the right things to work on?
I am visiting Yoda at the swamp a week from today...but I hate having to wait and when you start hitting hosel rockets at the range you definitely don't want to wait!!
Thanks for any help and sorry for the long winded post,
Keith
