Driver tee height question

i have a driver question. when i tee the ball up with a pretty 'standard' tee height, my tendency is to hit the ball a tad thin---on the lower part of the face. when i tee it up an additional 3/4 inch or so, it is SO much better. i know the easy answer is to just tee it higher, but why or what is causing me to thin the shots? thanks

It's more of a mental thing, the lower the tee height the more "down" you'll tend to swing which isn't the great idea with a driver.
