I read this on Mark Evershed's site:

Regarding David Duval

Hey, would someone get this message to David Duval!

Players who have made it to the top like David do not lose their swing. They may lose their alignments but they do not lose their swing.

Getting Your Swing Back:

Any half decent teacher can get David back his ball position and or his alignments but that’s not the problem. David more than likely has the unseen killer, the hydraulics. If this message ever does get through it will probably be met with, “oh, not another know it all”, or “another guy with a wild idea”. However, if what is to follow makes sense to you David then maybe you just found your answer and really what have you got to lose? I have a toll free number #: 888-884-4653, it won’t even cost you a dime.

If you are hitting shots that look pretty good, ending up okay, sometimes even real good but you never get that great sensation right at impact that the ball is going nowhere but where you aimed it, its hydraulics. Your confidence will erode even though the shots could look good but at your level that’s not good enough. You need to get back that fantastic feeling of a truly pure compressed golf shot. The answer truly is quite simple but no one knows much about. Someone might want to pass this message along to Ian Baker-Finch as well.

In closing please do not interpret this message as being anything other than a person truly trying to help. David, you are a truly talented person that has most likely been looking in the wrong places.

Anyone have an opinion on this? I have no idea what he's talking about...

Hydraulics??

Mark Evershed was taught by Tom Tomasello. As used by Mark, "hydraulics" refers to what you do to make the club move and, more specifically, how you make the club move from the Top of the Backswing through Impact and on to the Finish.

His method is to focus exclusively on the use of the Right Hand/Right Arm to make the club move, with a totally inert Left Arm (A Right Hand/Right Arm "hydraulic") as opposed to pulling with the Left Arm (a Left Arm "hydraulic"). He believes the Left Arm pull causes an off plane swing.

He wants you to simply take the Right Hand to the Top and then directly thru to the Finish. He likes to say that if you train your Right Hand what to do, "you get the body for free"; i.e., the body will react properly to allow the Right Hand to go where you want it to go. A "Hands controlled Pivot" stroke.

I'm not sure why he uses the term "hydraulics" -- I've never heard any other TGM trained instructor use the term.

I've been reading Mark's site. He has some great articles I think. I'm gonna read about Mr. Tommy T. now and see what I can find...

No need to read anything -- just go to Lynn Blake Golf and you can watch Tommy teaching on his Australian tour video. The video will be shown in 9 parts. The first two parts are already up.

all I can say is after seeing Duval live a couple times recently is that I have never seen a Pro hit it as wild as him off the tee.

He was my favorite golfer, but I just don't see him ever getting back to close to where he was. Someone who wants to make it back works all offseason to fix it instead of not swinging a club all winter and snowboard. He has a family right now and I think he's focused on that. Nothing wrong with that either.

Can you link to the video? I can't find it.

I don't see them on lynnblakegolf.com either, no LBG classic movies anywhere?

You have to sign up for the forum and scroll down towards the bottom. There should be a section called LBG Classic Movies.
