Effects of Posture on Swing Plane

Quick question for you coaching guru's out there. Does a more upright posture typically lead to a flatter(more around) swing plane and a more bent over posture result in a more upright swing plane?

I guess what I'm wondering if is you have a person who has some pop out, flattens out the swing, is a good way to address the issue to have the person bend over more at setup?

thx

Yes, but hand path and 3rd accumulator can change everything.

Why not just fix the pop out?

Greenfree, I agree with you that you want to fix the pop out, which is a problem I have. However, I notice that when I make my posture less upright, my popout seems to resolve itself.

so is an upright posture possibly a cause of pop out?

Rather than waist bend, focus first on the bend from your neck. If your eyes are correctly positioned, with the head facing down, it seems easier for the hands to go in. Look at Brian's perfect posture article in the archives, a search should find it, he discusses how the face should be pointing down at the ball.

An upright posture can never be considered the actual cause of popout...its a hands and arms mistake.

Thanks for all of the comments above, here's a thought I have which very much be wrong, but I want to run it by you guys.

If your natural tendency to swing on the shoulder plane, then posture is very important you must be more bent over, or if you're upright the hands will pop out to to try to get on the shoulder plane.

However, If you swing above the shoulder plan naturally, then I don't think posture is nearly as important.

thoughts...

Torso takeaway helps, and feel like your arms are a little closer \ connected to your torso if they're not already. - more inside.

when i do that i do have a tendency to be across the line at the top. This then caused me to come in steep - any thoughts?
