Elbows the same height?

I read on here somewhere (during the analysis of somebody's swing or something) about the elbows being roughly the same "height" at the top.

I had never heard that this was important, and I don't know why it would be, honestly. I fooled around with it, and it's very hard for me to get my right elbow to be the same height as my left -- it's always closer to the ground than my left.

When I try to get them the same height, I notice more consistency and accuracy, but I feel like there is a loss of power.

The only way I seem to be able to get them level is by "flying" my right elbow a little bit. Feels weird.

Is this something worth even fooling with? It feels like a waste of time, to be honest with you.

Thought I'd post to see what you guys think.

Keep your right elbow inside your shirt seam (seam along your right torso from under your arm to hip. Sounds like you are letting it get too far 'behind' you, behind that seam.

Elbows same distance apart and pointing down, inside that seam (keeping things 'out in front' of you) - this will give you fairly level elbows at the top - IMO level is best, however IF you error, error right lower.

A figure 8 strap can be very helpful, both used near the elbows (just below is my preference), and twisted up and used down near the wrists. A training aid everyone should use IMO.

Yes, that is likely. The single biggest takeaway problem IMO is 'rolling' the clubhead too far inside, not keeping the clubhead outside the hands until hip high, which generally means you are too 'around' and not enough 'up'.

Experiment with some split grip drills when working on this.
