Found this on Youtube, Elk doesn't appear to be a handle dragger, and seems to be a proponent of the type of release Brian and Michael are teaching here (and Kevin!)
Locker Room Lesson With Elk (Part 1): Coil/Recoil - Episode #917 - YouTube
As a side note I went out Sunday before the weather turned ugly and got a chance to play another practice round using the new release ideas...it was going so, so, and then for some reason I started concentrating more on my lower body, inparticular moving my left knee toward the target to start my downswing and wow, everything seemed to really come together. At set up I felt like I had a flat basketball between my knees and then at the top I kind bowed out my legs so the left knee went toward the target.
Don't know if helped keeping my back to the target or what but the results were sick...I hit 6- 8 iron shots before I was going to wrap it up since I could hardly see anything, I walked them off for approx. distance and when got to them they were all w/in 8 yards of each other and had carried roughly 165 yards, and it was 48 degrees outside!
The best part was that unlike my more CP type swing, it just seemed so much more effortless...so I will definitely continue w/ the lower body move to start the DS w/ my left knee...
One question for Kevin or Brian or any other 1.68'ers, during the toss out are you maintaining the right wrist bend or are you releasing that during the out toss?
Thanks
