Face angle at address

I am learning to have the butt of the cub pointing towards belt buckle at address. Previously, my address position was ppretty much impact position with hands well advanced of ball.

My method to achieve the belt buckle position, is to set myself up (with hands forward), and clubface square to target and then bring my hands back (ie away from target). As you would expect, this closes the face significantly and I tend to chicken out and only get the butt of club half way between hip and belt buckle.

I have been practising address position and set-up routine in the lounge room (as you do).

My questions are:
1. Should the face angle be square to target line at address?
2. Would you agree that best set up routine would be to have club point at belt buckle with club face square to target and THEN grip the club?

1. Not necessarily. It can be pointing anywhere that helps you achieve the impact and D-Plane desired.
2. Address the ball with your right arm only, keeping the butt of the club just right of your zipper. Once you grip the club, the hands will go to a neutral, mid-body position.

Glad I can help. I'm a Huuuuuuuuge fan of Flight of the Conchords....it's the least I can do.
