Face Balanced or Toe Down Putter

The title says it all. Does the technique for putting outlined in "Rolling the Rock" favor a face balanced putter or a toe hang putter? I notice Brian is using a santa-fe neck style putter in the article, so maybe that answers my question. Or perhaps the balance of the putter doesn't really matter[?]

I would assume toe hang, since this is basically the Utley "arc" approach and that is what he uses/recommends. Face-balanced is for the dreadful Dave Pelz straight-back-straight-through thing.
