YES European captain Nick Faldo has BENCHED.....LEE WESTWOOD AND SERGIO FOR SATURDAY MORNING MATCHES.....being from the U.S.A of course i want AMERICA to win.......but until today sergio was 8-0 i believe in partner matches........being behind by 3 points is tough enough for the EUROPEANS.....they have beaten us up in the past...........but Captain Faldo......i think you added insult to injury...............................Just my opinion ofcourse.......

Europe should bench Faldo & bring in a new captain immediately. What arrogance! Sergio is possibly the best Ryder Cup player in history. Garcia and Westwood have a ton of experience. Faldo is trying to shake it up to be sure, but I predict this goes in the wrong direction in a big way.

I too hope for a very close Ryder Cup as the drama is unmatched when the cup comes down to the last couple of singles matches on Sunday.

I just can't for the life of me understand why Faldo would take Garcia off the course when he is possibly the best ball striker in the world, possibly the best Ryder Cup player and teammate ever, a hot player during the Fed-Ex cup, and the only player ever to go undefeated through 9 foresomes matches. Count 'em 9! That record is so fat it is rediculous. No way this is a smart move independent of Faldo trying to get his guys started - no way.

I'll concede Westwood taking the morning off if for no other reason than he's coming off some health issues and likely is not at full strength.

The US team seem to be taking a leaf out of the euros book and enjoying themselves. Not seen a US team this relaxed for years. Also PM seems to have stepped up to the plate as team leader.

I have said it before and I will say it again. With Faldo in charge we were never going to win this RC. He isnt captain material and Saturdays selections prove that.

Hj that is interesting. Did you ever see him play golf when he was in high school. Did you expect him to make it as far as he has?

In fairness to Nick, Garcia played awful yesterday, a lot of fat shots. I wouldn't be surpised if Garcia wanted the morning off.

Sergio and Lee need to suck it up - I think Sergio should have drank some red bull and Lee's blisters won't feel any better when he sees the US hoisting the Cup. This happens every 2 years!! Get your ass on the course and perform!

Maybe that rumor is not so ill founded.

In Azinger's book "Zinger" on page 68, PA writes:

I made the golf team at school but didn't take it too seriously. I played golf in junior high and high school mostly for the fun of it. In ninth grade I scored consistently around 39 for nine holes. By the time I was a senior in high school I was averaging around 42. That's what happens when you get a driver's license.
