Faster, not harder

IMO, swinging "hard" is no good - the "hit impulse" is one of the leading causes of death in the golf swing. Ranking right up there with the hit impulse is tension of all kinds, Why? Others may disagree with me, but I believe each of these things can retard the proper release of the club head/turning the club head off the plane/rotation of the left arm that must occur for good golf to be played. I suspect that faster rotation of the left arm through impact may contribute to increased club head lag/speed/snap through impact, but this requires good timing. Just some thoughts...

How do you "step on one" on a long hole, etc., without swinging completely differently? Better players can go after it when they want to, and their swing is basically the same, just harder/faster. If I try to go after one, my swing is completely different.

i try to speed my pivot up if i want to hit it further, on a driver.

on an iron, cos i still want control, i'll more likely just speed my armswing up and my pivot usually responds

Momentum transfer:

Load it tighter on the back swing , pivot brake hard as hell on the downswing, transfer all your momentum through your arms, and into your hands (K-Snap it).

Load and unload.

Brian's soft draw toss is the beans with the driver:)
