Fat shots with SDP

I have watched SDP two or three times and find it to be excellent (as many others have also said). For the past few weeks I have been working on the pattern and I am hitting more and more good shots. However, my most frequent miss is a fat shot. I have been really trying to stay in my posture better this season. However, I think when I do and when I work on the underhand javelin toss I have a tendency to hit shots a little chunky.

Just curious if others have experienced this with the SDP and if so, are there are any corrections I should try? I do have confessions of a former flipper—as I recall the concepts in that video seem different that those in the SDP but it has been a while since I watched it.

Watch out for overdoing the "stepping on the right."

Great post curtis; most likely cmk it is one of these issues:

1) Ball position too far forward
2) Too much lean into your right side as Curtis mentioned
3) Not a steep enough shoulder turn

Try the fixes in that order and see if it helps

Curtis and Jim,
Thanks for your replies. Great observation about too much lean to the right--I have a hunch that is the answer. On Jim's fix 3, does the point Brian makes in the video about being able to look into the elbow pit play a role? I have produced some pretty shots when making sure to apply that point.
Thanks again!

As for myself, I'm hitting the driver pretty well with SD; my irons however are atrocious. Lots of thin, toe jobs....
