fiddler drill

The fiddler drill in "flipper" is a great drill for preventing throwaway, however it seemed to be contrary to an overall motion, at least until watching the senior tour replay on the golf channel. Watching Tom Jenkins, the winner, swing in slomotion, he swings exactly like the drill. His backswing ends with the club literally on his right shoulder, with arms collapsed. He then fiddles the club out to proper extension and drives the right shoulder downplane, leading the clubshaft. He has great lag and impact position. Perfect example of how great Brian's drill is for developing the proper downswing. Watch him next time the seniors are televised and compare to fiddler, it is the identical motion.

I noticed that this weekend too. Lots of axis tilt and lag. Great swing.

I had forgotten who it was, glad you reminded me it was Jenkins.
