I just wanted to post and say thanks to this site, personal lessons from Brian...I finally did it, I BROKE PAR. Shot 71 on a 72.1/125 course. 11/14 fairways and 11/18 greens it took 6 birdies to get it done because I started out bogey, double bogey, but I did it, one of the proudest days of my golfing life.

The last session with Brian at the ATL tour stop has put my ballstriking over the edge. For the past couple of years I have hovered in the 75-81 range with a couple of 73's & 74's thrown in due mostly to a pretty good putting stroke and short game (thanks to the tour pitch). However reworking my swing with Brian last year and this year has me doing some things with the golf ball I could not do before. It all came together and I finally accomplished a goal of mine.

Now I just got to do it more consistently and in tournaments.

Let me just add that Brian is one hell of a teacher, and really believed I could get better and accomplish my goals. Thanks Brian and thanks to the people here on this site.

HOORAY!

Jared (glcoach) is one fantasic student.

Our work together shows what can happen with a willing student and a teacher who can CUSTOMIZE for the golfer—and in this case—and the EVLOVING GAME of that golfer.

When someone teaches a tour player, like a Leadbetter or a Flick, they can say anything and it might work.

If you told a tour player, lets say a Tom Purtzer in his prime, "Tom, I want you to just use your arms. Don't use your pivot, it will listen." Tom Purtzer would have PIVOTED LIKE HECK anyway, and who knows, might have played better if you gave him something else worth a darn.

With someone like Jared—a Caoch himself—if I would have told him something goofy like if you swing far enough to the right with a really strong grip, and you don't roll the face, the ball will still go straight. He'd be thinking about playing in a softball league.

Instead, he is thinking about the US Publinks or Mid Am!

Keep it up!

And GREAT WORK!!!! :D

Congratulations GL. Great accomplishment. I'm sure it's just the beginning of even more to come.

And you've got to love doing it by fighting back from the +3 start. Best wishes to bogey free under par rounds.

Congrats.....I think the best part is how you overcame your poor start. Many players would have became frustrated but you stuck to your guns. I think if I break par I might start crying.........not kidding!

Thanks guys :)

I have met with Brian 2 times for 3 hours each at the Atlanta tour stop last year and this year plus a bunch of phone conversations in between the two visits that have helped a lot.

As for overcoming the +3 start, Dr. Mac Powell's book Golf's Inner Game really has helped a bunch as far as outlook on the game and matching my personality to the game.......but, it's real easy to have a great mental outlook when your striping it.
