I have come to the conclusion that maybe for me to progress further down the long road to golfing nirvana that I may need some real TGM instructor help. Since finding my way from the dark days of the FGI forums and thus finding the true path to follow, I have often asked, maybe if I went and seen someone like Brian would my learning of The Golfing Machine been so much quicker and easier and thus progressed further than I already have. So far Brian and Co. have helped in me to a single figure mark, all but less the consistency. I suppose what I'm asking is, if I were to make the long journey to the USA and find myself a few weeks with a real TGM instructor, would this be the icing on the cake that gives me the knowledge that takes me to the next level and beyond.

I'll give you my experience with TGM instruction after this weekend. I too fall along the same lines as you - started with FGI and found TGM debate. Took 2 of my son's to visit brian since they were just starting high schoool golf. I observed the lessons and learned so much. I have been coming to these forums daily and practicing what I learn. I have improved so much but I'm still confused about certain things and I'm hoping the fog will lift wafter this weekend. I went from about a 28 HD to around a 14.

Burner,
Have you had instruction from him as you seem keen to recommend him.

Brian,
The fall in New Orleans sounds good to me, but I'm thinking more maybe towards spring. I need to plan the escape first.;)

EN,

Yes, I was lucky enough to spend some time with Paul whilst on a recent vacation in Australia. I had gone into golfing meltdown whilst trying to take my scores into the seventies and was, in fact, going backwards.

Paul is not only very (TGM) knowledgable but is an excellent communicator also, not to mention a top bloke. He identified my problems almost immediately and had me fixing them, with instant positive feedback from the results I gained by following his recommendations. Compression kicks A$$ and I now have the short game that I was looking for - save for being able to open up a 7i and hit balls out of a compacted down bunker Manzella style.

Paul has just given assistance to a guy who is returning to golf after injury and will be playing on the Aussie PGA Tour next term. That guy has had exposure to TGM in the past but by a bloke who "customised" the principles to teach his own method. He appreciated the value and efficacy of Pauls knowledge from the outset and cannot wait to get out on tour now.

I have never had 1 on 1 instruction with Paul, but he has helped me a lot with online video etc.

Also the Pro you speak of is raving about Pauls work, and I am planning to see that pro shortly for some lessons so I guess I will be able to give some second hand feedback then
