First Lesson with Brian

I just had my first lesson with Brian on his Florida tour stop. I thought I might recount my experience. Prior to this I had about five lessons in ten years.

First, I drove to Fort Myers through driving rain for a lesson which was supposed to start at 1:00. The whether wasn't cooperating, so I ended up sitting at the lunch table in the cart barn with another student, the Miromar Lakes pro, and the B man himself. I got to hear some great Brian anecdotes while we waited for the weather to clear. Brian is even more lively and entertaining in person than he appears on his tapes.

The lesson. Trackman and getting "zeroed out" was really cool. Brian worked with my alignment and my basic swing and got me hitting some good shots. He let me know what Trackman was telling him about each of my swings and I started to get a sense of what was happening the more shots I hit. That tool, combined with Brian's knowledge and guidance, created an awesome confidence building environment for this student. I walked away comfortable with the path (pardon the pun) Brian was sending me on and committed to doing what I had learned.

Not only did we work on zeroing me out but we had time for some short game matrix stuff. All in all a fantastic experience.

Get you some of that.

Thanks Brian.

And I thought I had it bad on that drizzly morning in Louisville!

You are the perfect guinea pig for my question. I would answer it myself, but Brian did not have Trackman when I took my lesson.

After some time goes by, it would be great if you could comment on your ability to remember what that optimized swing felt like and your ability to accomplish it. That is with no feedback mechanism, how hard is it to maintain the swing.

Tks

...and also your ablilty to recreate the ball flight that you produced with the optimized swing, and what adjustments you needed to make to get back to that ball flight.

Hi guys, I will try to keep track of my post Brian lesson progress, with particular emphasis on how well I am able to maintain the swing he taught me. I've discovered a crude methodology. Basically I rate how well I was able to execute what I got from the lesson over the course of a round on a ten point scale. So far I've played twice. I gave myself an 8 the first round and a 7 the second round. We'll see how it goes over time.

Additionally, I'll post some pre Brian and post Brian swings so you can judge for yourself.

Thanks for the interest.
