Well it was an "almost round;" i was only able to get through 13 holes BUT

I was -2 through 9 with:

4/7 fairways
5/9 greens
11 putts
3/4 par saves

3 birdies, 1 bogie

10 through 13:

3/4 fairways
2/4 greens
6 putts
2/2 par saves

4 pars

---------------------

this was a very promising round because the wind was blowing pretty good and a lot of it was into my face and hard to pick clubs. On a couple holes i really killed some drives and only hit it like 250-260 when i normally hit it between 280-290.

I also hit a couple really really recovery shots, the one i may not be able to match the rest of the year. I hit a punch draw 5 iron that took about a 95* turn around a tree then ended up about 7 feet from the hole and yes i made the birdie putt!

Sorry to brag but i'm excited. -2 on this course in slightly windy conditions for the first round out with mis adjusted clubs (lie too upright) makes me pretty happy. We'll see how the season progresses but my goal is to get to a +3 to +4. On this particular course i would need shoot 66-67 since it's a course rating of 70.5/122.

Thanks

Nice going Jim, there is no better feeling than being back at the course. I was -1 thru 11 holes this weekend (43 degree with drizzle off Lake Superior-Im a diehard), course is super wet and turning muddy. Doubt I will match your +3 or +4, fun trying!

Congrats Jim, I always enjoy reading your posts and had been meaning to getting around to asking you a question, you recently talked about the adjustment you made to not only trace a straight plane line, but to ensure that your right shoulder was on plane, how did you go about monitoring both? (assuming the plane lasers for the tracing of the plane line). Thanks Jim and congrats again.

Lots of practice until the ball went where i want, with the curve i want and the distance i wanted LOL.

A good drill is to do the wall drill, where you make a backswing and have your left shoulder gets really close to the wall (this is all without a club btw) and then on the downswing you "fit in" the right shoulder so it's much further in from the wall.

then once i learned how to do that, it was just combining that feel with plane laser training.

Jim, we want to see your swing! You've been talking about it for ages. Youtube! Youtube! Youtube! Youtube!

Jim nicely done.

I still remember the first time we met (with Brian) back in Orlando. Needless to say your skills for the game have improved dramatically.

Good job and let us know how things are progressing.

Erik

P.S. I am also available to caddy when you make it on Tour.

I can't visualize this - is your back or front to the wall?
