Fitting for the First time.

Didn't want to screw up the Trackman thread with my questions, so I started a new one. Im getting fit for the first time really soon and would like some guidance. I am starting to strike the ball pretty consistently, for me at least. I want to get fit for the right length, lie, and grip, so I don't start leaning over the ball too much and start making swing compensations. I have standard off the rack Hogan Apexs with stiff shafts. Im 6'2" and my floor to wrist measurement is 36 1/2". Is standard right for me???It seems short according to some websites..online fit stuff. I know that getting fit online doesn't tell the whole story, but I'm concerned.. I also wonder if NOT getting fit is going to screw me up much until I see Brian in May. I plan on playing a ton until I see him though.Help please.

I guess I should rephrase the question. Is there any validilty to having someone come into a lesson that has already been fit for their current swing or not?? Would you rather have that someone be "fit", or not be fit..then you can fit them and fix their posture?

I say play with what you got now. Knowing you from your posts you will take this club fitting to the nth degree and let it whack you all out in your head on the results! (you know what i mean! Not being mean just observing from the internet waves!) You've had a lesson from Kevin so use that knowledge first and foremost for your swing. Clubfitters tend to throw in their 2cents on your swing and would give you to much thought to ponder. Get your lesson from Brian and then get his suggestions on who to get fit from.

This knowledge will make your day great!

Thank you Bolt..ahhh my mind is free. I think I needed someone to tell me not to worry so much..thanks again. The physcological help I get here is great.
