I downloaded and watched the the sandbunker video today. After work I went to the range and tried to hit some pitches. I've never focused or been taught to focus on my wrists when pitching - that video gave me some information I haven't gotten anywhere else. Today's practice was a focus on keeping my wrist flat and making sure my wrist matched the club face (still trying to get over the flipping.) I hit some good pitches (15-30 yard range.) What I noticed is that I can lay the face way open and hit a lob shot beautifully now. I was still digging some on regular pitches and after quite a few balls I think I figured it out. I'm wasn't releasing the club and in turn I'm dipping my body to get the clubface to the ball. I started releasing the club and waa-la. I then started getting good results on 30-50yd pitches. Probably need to work on this as it's new and there were way to many thing racing through my head today (pivot, waggle, flat wrist, cock the wrist, etc...) I think my pivot is still way out of wack and probably my shoulder turn too. All in all I think I'm on to something.
I wish I would have found this site and these videos a long time ago.
