Why can't I stop my hands when hitting the punch shot Brian describes in the video? I either swivel halfway to the finish or tense up my hands in an effort to stop the club and hit it fat. I know Brian answered this question before but I can't seem to find that post.

You have to be over accelerating the club somewhere, creating either upward or forward in your swing. Have you heard of Brian's "shake the sugar" drill? Your hands should just run out of gas in this shot/drill.

If you have trouble stopping your hands post impact on a punch, you are,as Ben Doyle says, "adding" to the shot, or over accelerating. Your arms should just run out of steam. Look at a spot a foot or so in front of your ball. Imagine your arms are covered in sugar. Gradually increase speed on your punch to where all of the force would dump down at that spot, or shake all the sugar off the arms. No more acceleration is needed past that point.

Should it feel as though I make a conscious effort to stop the club or should it just stop there when executed properly? When I get close to stopping with a FLW it is because I took a huge divot that stopped the club, is this correct? It seems there's no way the club will stop w/o either a large divot or my hands tensing up, which causes the left wrists to bend. I know I still have too much forward in the swing but I will keep working on "shake the sugar" and see if it gets better.
