Flipper!

I've been a struggling flipper for most of my golfing life. Flipping, "adding instead of multiplying", etc. I think I'm finally starting to "get it". Here are a couple video clips of me hitting pitch shots. I think my impact alignments are much better, but I'm sure there is room for improvement. However, on a full swing, I don't seem able to hold the flat left wrist very long (not with any consistency anyway). I'm keeping it flat through impact, so I'm getting much better results, but I feel like I'm "barely" keeping it flat through impact because it breaks down shortly after impact. What are the keys to maintaining the flying wedges into the follow-through?

I think the first movie looks terrific. Pause the vid a few frames after impact. I am not sure it could look much better than that.

In the second video, is it me, or is that left arm getting a little too soft? Impact still looks decent, though. Keep it up!

It could be. I also noticed that the camera isn't directly in front of me in one of those videos.

I'm really feeling a sense of roll with my left arm now and that "knuckles dragging on the ground" feeling.

You need to learn how to roll your left arm more through impact and keep pivoting....the minute you stop rolling and/or pivoting you are "quitting" thus the left wrist breaks down.

Otherwise, good stuff :)

Ahh, I think I see what you mean about the constant rolling. I watched that clip of Michael Finney hitting a driver and you can really see the rolled left arm in the follow through. I think that is where I'm going wrong on full swings because I feel like I'm pivoting all the way to the finish.

Thanks for the input, everyone. :)

what have you been practicing to stop the flipping?

I've mainly been focusing on my pivot doing the work, rolling my left arm and feeling as if I were going to drag my knuckles (left hand) on the ground.

Another thing, I used to have a difficult time starting my swing. Like, I'd get frozen over the ball. Since I started forward pressing a little bit, it's really helped to get my swing going and also to start the swing feeling like my pivot is doing the work since it's the feet, knees and hips that power the forward press.
