Flipping Wedges

For some reason I have the biggest problem retaining a flat left wrist when hitting half shots with sand wedges or pitching wedges

On the downswing i tend to lose the bend in the right wrist about halfway down which then leads to hitting the outside of the ball or worse still a shank.

With other clubs i don't tend to have as much of a problem, almost seems to be the weight of the clubhead?

Anyone else have similar problems and what was your solution?

Cheers

Oh...

Because you are SUB-CONS. trying to scoop more to "use the loft."

Best way out of this little problem is to hit TRAP, HOOKed wege shots.

I will try to post a little video of them.

Works for 98.5% of all scoop/cut wedge shot golfers.

You're right... again!

Thanks Brian i think you may be right (as always). I don't have a huge flip but lose that right wrist bend just before impact.. must be the subconcious kicking in. A short vid demonstration would be great for everyone i think!

Thanks again

"Trapped" Wedges?

Hi Brian, any further info on those "trap hooked wedges?".

I've been trying to hit low right to left wedges (wedding ring up) if that is what you are meaning but at the moment they are coming out nicely compressed but left of the target. Starting swinging a lot out to the right but they are still going slightly left (and straight)

Thanks!
