If you watch a robotic swing arm go backwards, the clubhead lags on the takeaway and the hinge cocks at the change of direction going down.
I was wandering what practical human factors make this not a preferred pattern. Seems, in a lab, the best way to load and store the power/angle would be to cup the right wrist and bend the left wrist and drag the butt end of the club away and then let the left flatten and cock and right wrist bend on down swing.
As a side note, if you watch the machines on the downswing you will notice that the club does flip right AFTER impact. The machine obviously hits the ball PRE-FLIP (so don't go crazy on me), but I think I may artificially inhibit the flip POST-IMPACT in fear of being self-stigmatized as a flipper.
