Foot position and pivot

Many golfers in the past (and some modern day) flaired the back foot out 30 degrees or so, e.g. Bobby Jones. What relation does this to have to someone performing the pivot correctly as well as getting sufficient axis tilt, etc. I look forward to your thoughts.

Happy Easter!

some players do not care to get a big "x factor" and dont want to turn there shoulders much more then their hips, this puts excess strain on the spine. SO by flariing out the back foot this allow more hip turn and therefore it is easier to get the shoulders to around 90*
