Brian Manzella, 42, a PGA Teaching Professional who resides in New Orleans, Louisiana and teaches at English Springs @ Different Strokes in Louisville, Kentucky as well as The Learning Center at Bayou Oaks in (New Olreans) City Park, was awarded a Doctorate in Golf Stroke Engineering from The Golfing Machine, Inc., a Beaverton, Oregon based company that trains golf professionals to teach the science of the golf swing. Manzella is the 28th teaching professional worldwide to attain that designation.
Manzella, who was awarded the 2003 PGA Kentucky Section's Teacher of The Year award in November, began his teaching career at City Park in 1982 under then Head Professional Henry Thomas. Manzella is also long-time protege of world-renown instructor Ben Doyle of Carmel, Califorina.
Brian reunited with former student David Toms last year at the HP Classic of New Orleans and Toms won the next week at the Wahcovia Championship after his lessons with Manzella.
Manzella operates a web site which includes the Manzella Golf Forum which has over 1200 members worldwide and also writes a monthly instruction article for AutoSuccess magazine.
Manzella married Lisa Marse last November 8 and made a hole-in-one that day at Audubon Park Golf Club in New Olreans.
