In the last couple of weeks there have been a couple threads on hitting the 3w. I too was having problems hitting a 3w off the deck. Off the tee no problem but off the deck usually led to a topped-shot.
Anyways after reading those posts and the various replies I got some good ideas and worked with them at the range. The biggest tip for me was playing the ball back a little in my stance - I'm now playing it back about 4" inside my left heel instead of 1". In the last 3 rounds I have not topped one 3w shot. Better, I'm now hitting it as far off the deck as I am off of a tee.
Now that I've conquered the 3w off the deck, I'm looking for a 5w to fill the gap between 3w and 24* hybrid. Thanks everyone for the post(s) and replies!
