Full Swing Flipping

I have been practicing the drills Brian recommends on "Confessions of a Former Flipper," but have had difficulty translating the feel of the pitch to the full swing. Should the technique and feeling be the same in the full swing as on the pitch?

I would like to know also. I recently viewed confessions and I've been chipping crisp with hands leading the club. I want to move onto the pitch but Brian didn't really touch on it as much as the chip. Would also like to know how to incorporate a proper follow through. Currently all my shots finish with my hands higher than my club (right hand below the left) and would like to know where to take it from there.
rprevost, on your pitches how do you follow through? Do your pitches feel like punch shots too?

any ideas? Went to the range today and tried the twistaway and wedding ring up drill and the shots were pretty nice. Some really high some really low. I still feel like I'm just punching the shot rather than swinging. I was getting some really deep divots. Any tips on full swinging?
One last thing. I also tried my regular swing (no twistaway or wedding ring) and my shots were nice and solid solid but my divots were just under the ball, not infront. I guess this is considered fat. My question is how do I know if I am normally flipping. What are the results of a flipped full shot?

Never Slice Again!

If you have FLIPPER and don't have Never Slice Again 2.0, you MIGHT get a little "punchy."

Take a look at it—you'll like it.

Would you recommend chipping on the course the way that was demonstrated on the Flipper video, or was that just a drill to learn how to power the shot with the pivot?

Once you stop at the "follow through" point. I want you to CONSCIOUSLY your ENTIRE LEFT ARM so that your left wrist stays flat and you put the clubface on the movie screen.

Do this 4-5 times to ingrain the feel. Hit the chip, STOP, then do this conscious move slow and watch how it happens.

Then try and incorporate both. To get a better visual of what rolling the entire left arm looks like, search for Brian's Never Slice Again article or even better buy the NSA 2.0 video. The entire concept is in there as well as how make a full swing.

An update on this thread: I practiced the drills from "Confessions" with a pitching wedge every day for a week, and I played for the first time today since I began. I was somewhat amazed at how the feeling engrained in the drills with a pitching wedge carried over to the long irons and woods. The transition to the full swing was not quite as hard as I thought it would be. When I hit the ball correctly, it had a beautiful, boring flight; and it was my best round of the year.

It is a common problem, not just with "Flipper," but with Ben's "Chip-Pitch-Punch" and the Basic/Aquired Motion fans.

And I have the answer.

"Son of a Former Flipper."

Coming to a iTV near you.

"Punchy" without NSA??

Common problem??

What is a common problem is CONVERTING a short stroke that has the club "up the left arm" in the follow-through, to a SMOOTH full swing.

No problem in my lessons, but I have seen this happen with all three styles of short-to-long methods.
