Decided today that I had to figure out this normal business. Went back to a micro swing, keeping the shaft between the arms on the backswing (see "ideas about the release" and getting the feel for this by gripping down the shaft), applying a nice even torque with the right arm/hand, hips quiet and then throwing the drunk straight up into the air (when? When it felt like the right time). 100 repetitions and then started to feel the clubhead acceleration at the bottom. Arms flung straight out to left hand against the wall finish without even trying to hit that position. And this without any concious intent to pivot anything (although it did happen).
Effortless. You suddenly realize how crazy are the ideas about driving the club down and into the ball with PP3 and flat left wrist and bent right wrist and so on. Anti-physics really.
What a beautiful feeling knowing that you can accelerate the clubhead by simply pulling it up at the right time. Of course hand path and releasing in the plane of the wrists is vitally important too. Without the proper shaft/hand orientation going normal does very little.
In case it helps.
