Hi Brian,
Thanks for your advice on the you tube footage.
Had a session at the range this lunchtime and my interpretation of what you said seemed to go VERY well. Ball flight came down to a very penetrating flight with my 3 wood which I was about to put in the "naughty cupboard" for going too high. Driver also much lower. Am liking that a lot
With regards having my body "slightly" more behind the ball would this be with more tilt to the right by moving hips forward or moving my whole body over to the right, and is this why I some times I move to the right as a start my backswing (trying to get to where I should of been????)
Have moved left hand over "a little" and making sure it's in the "heel pad pick up" position. Feels fine there.
Hit some balls with just my right /arm hand only and that feeling seems to get my right elbow higher and feel like my right wrist is moving correctly, will hopefully check on video.
Some takeaways on my super expensive Titleist Tour towel planeboard
seemed to get the club a little more inside, my hands felt a little "deeper" but I have to always watch out for over correction, trying too hard etc etc.
Not so many left shots, and a few cute fades
I would love to hit a powerful 5 yrd cut but then again wouldn't most of the world
Having now gone up to 4.5 I am officially at my highest handicap for 14 years but am hitting the ball really well. Just need some competitions to play in.
I feel when it gets darker as the autumn closes in at my friends range you will be able to pick up the flight a bit more on the video footage.
I have fairly long fingers and have midsize grips with two layers of tape.
What's your take on oversize grips? I feel they may make me release a bit too soon and make it harder to square the face?
I really appreciate your help and would be happy to pay for any further advice.
